Using Maguey (What We in Texas
Call Century Plant) Fibers to Make Twine
The children feed shredded Maguey
fiber into a 'shaper' and also hold the line taut. Note the finished
bundles of cord to Ana's left in the background and Ana is standing
in front of a finished bag (hanging from side of hill behind her
to the left). Sometimes they weave horse hair (from mane and tail)
into a length of line to add decoration to a finished bolsa.

The Father walks away from the
fiber tree as he 'spins' the twine. (Sorry not to have a better
photo but will add some more later).
