Jewelry from Jalisco (above and left):
Jalisco jewelry is noted by its open and simple designs usually with a Nature theme and by its complex, often festive, necklaces and bracelets.

In Guanajuato (no examples shown), whose mines provided the world with silver for centuries, jewelry is manufactured after colonial designs though not as intricate than from Mazahua. In gold or silver, or in a combination of both metals, their artisans often mount turquoise in the beautiful yet simple jewelry they make.

Jewelry from Oaxaca (above and left):
In Patzcuaro and Yalalag, artisans make necklaces and earrings of smooth or scratched gold and silver using patterns reflecting Indian tradition often mixed with their interpretation of their Spanish heritage and Pre Columbian figures. They are fond of designs with dangling little images, such as fish or Madona images, or individually creative designs combined with porcelain beads and crosses of Colonial design mixed with symbols from their native ancestors.
