Ixtle Hammocks ~ Ixtle Hamacas
see Cotton/Nylon Hammocks
(back to Natural Fiber heading)
Hammocks and fire are two items all ancient cultures have in common. The Ixtle Hammocks from Mexico today are the same design as used by native peoples since before Columbus. Ixtle refers to Maguey and Henequen plant fibers, whose source is the Agave plant. We like the Ixtle Hammocks as they are all natural.

Agave fibers are very durable; Agave sandals over five thousand years old have been found and they are wearable today. Agave has been woven into practical daily goods within Meso America since man has occupied those areas.

We offer other Hammocks but this is the best for stuffing in your bag and going for a picnic, to the beach, on a campout or where-ever when you just want to 'hang out'. Great for international travel to keep luggage weight down. And you know you are giving support to a native artisan every time you 'stretch out'.
If you are looking for a Hammock that occupies very little space, easy to carry, is durable and solid, has reliable end loops, and completely natural in its materials and construction, then this is the one. E-mail us for your bulk order and more info.
If you do not see it, ask us, impossible to show everything. Thank you for visiting our web pages and if you do come to Saltillo, please visit us at our very nice
Hotel Hacienda Rancho El Morillo.
